Brother Duncan Tuininga

Duncan E. Tuininga, 70, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2016, in Albany, his family by his side. He is predeceased by his parents, Lynn and Doris Tuininga; and his brother, Paul Tuininga. Duncan is survived by his wife of over 42 years, Carri (Wahl) Tuininga; daughters, Dory (Kristine) Tuininga and Lauren Tuininga; siblings, Dean (Karen) Tuininga and Carole (John) Silva and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

He grew up in Gorham, N.H. and completed his undergraduate degree at the Warfield School of Business at the University of New Hampshire. After graduating with his masters in theatre from the University of Illinois Champagne-Urbana, he served with distinction in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Duncan and his family settled in Albany where he was the controller of Sysco Corporation from 1979 to 1995. Later, Duncan and Carri owned and operated the U.P.S. store in Saratoga for seven years. He had a lifelong love of theatre, history and spending time with the people he cared about.

Calling hours were held on Sunday, September 25, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at New Comer Funeral Home in Colonie, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, with a funeral service at 1 p.m. Military interment services were held Monday, September 26, at 2 p.m. at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schylerville.
